I recently bought a new pc with an onboard video card. In xp and in the BIOS, i see that it has 128MB of video memory, but vista will say i have only 16MB of vram, so i can't turn on all the cool features in it. Does any one know what's causing this?

Vista needs a dedicated graphics chip (at least of the FX5200 level) with 128 MB of dedicated vram to switch on the eye candy. I doubt you can view the aero interface in all it's glory using an onboard chip.

That makes sense, but then how come vista sees 16mb of video memory and 896 of ram?
