Hi guys stumbled across you earlier got a p4 3.4 ghz cpu the other day was idling in the mid to late 40's with load thrashing it with everest ultimate got into early 60's revered the 4" case fan on side to blow air in and turned 2 smaller ones round to suck out also have a powered heat extractor and now idles @ 41 to 45 with load never passes 58c when gaming halflife 2 ect. Also bios says different temp it says 51c ish idle and all other monitoring software says early 40's which is correct ?. ps mb is asus P5P800 using stock cooler and mb temp is 38 c monitored by everest.Would like to know if these are ok as ive heard prescotts are nortorious for being HOT little buggers and whats the safe max temp.Thxs in advance

Not exactly sure what you are saying, but I think that the bios should usually be correct. Although, everest also seems to be a good program so it might be right too. I'm thinking that the temperture may have changed somehow in between your checkings.
