Installing ubuntu on a newly assembled desktop but with no monitor

hi all,

help please !

here is the situation, i work in research and recently assembled a new computer (corei3+asus-h55 based board) and hope to use only via ssh (so did not buy a screen).

i have a laptop, but do not yet have a screen for the desktop.

could you guys give me some pointers to is it even possible to install ubuntu on the system without connecting a screen to it... remotely ssh etc... i also have access to the desktop so i can plug in a usb and keyboard mouse etc... but don't have a screen...

i can (and i will eventually) borrow a screen and do the thing... but i was just wondering if it can be done without one...

thanks in advance for the replies...

cheers

You could try using VNC. Well you could try something radical. Keep in mind it's much more simple to get a monitor, but you can give this a shot anyway.
