problen with installing redhat 9 and vmware 5

Hi All
i'm new here and i'm totally new with linux
i'm trying to install redhat 9 with vmware 5, i've 7 GB of free disk space and i've choosed custome installation,
the selected packages are about 2.8 GB and after selecting it, the installer tell me that he needs to install all the selected images on the hard disk and after proceeding and after about 60% progress it tell me that it ran out of disk space and stop installation.
how come?
i've 7 GB NTFS partion and the selected packages are 2.8 GB how can it run out of disk space?
i've made scan disk and i've no errors on my hard disk.

any help is appreciated.

How big of a virtual disk did you allocate for your Red Hat installation?
