Changing UNIX IP Address

Hey everyone,

We have a UNIX DecAlpha here at work, and I need to change the IP on it.

Could someone tell me how to do this through command line?

ifconfig maybe? (yes it is if not ip)

so it worked?

if its a unix workstation it may be better postig in a more deidcated forum in future - most of the guys here are linux althouh there is a few freebsd people
