My computer won't let me name any files! I can name folders, but only once when I create it. If I try to rename a file it will say "If you change file name extension, the file may become unusable." I have some Japanese songs I want to change into English and some Word Documents. By the way, I have a WindowsXP 2003.

Hello, have you got the option show filename extension selected?

have a look under tools > folder options >view (tab) and select the 'Hide file extension for know files'.

I suspect that when you enter the new filename it you don't include the extension, probably .mp3.

Has this helped?
