Refuses to download! IE problem??

What would cause an IE error message to come up saying "Internet Explorer was not able to open this Internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later." everytime i try to download software? This is poker software and i've downloaded similair software from another site. This has happened from 5 different sites and I know it's not the sites because i've talked to others who have downloaded the software recently. What can be causing this?? Are there any web sites that have diagnostics that can test/check my ability to download?? These are the sites that won't download, but i don't think it's a problem with the sites themselves.

My firewall is disabled. I've made no other changes to IE since the lasttime i succesfully downloaded poker software. What am I missing here???

What about pop up blockers or anti-viruses? If its your secuirty giving you these problems then the downloads are probly bad as some of the poker software I've seen.

I disabled pop-up blocker and there aren't any anti-virus issues.
