hi, check this link ,it will tell you what need to have wmc ,but i think its only available with win7 http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-media-center/get-started/default.aspx
a bit more searching and i find it not available for vista home basic,you will need to upgrade to vista home premium or ultimate
