I recently replaced the operating system in my laptop from XP Home edition that came pre-installed in the machine to Windows XP Professional. Now my DVD drive (NEC DVD+-RW ND-6500A) cannot recognise DVDs. It can only see CDs. The problem is that when I installed XP Professional, Sonic RecordNow that came preinstalled was nolonger available. I do not know exactly which version of RecordNow I had and nI do not know which version of software I can buy/install for the DVDs to be accessed. Would you please recommend what I need to do. If I have to get/buy software, which one should I go for?.

As for the Sonic Record Now, it can be downloaded from here.

Have you looked to see if you have drivers enabled for the drive?
