Sorry - might be a noob question and there's no section for Microsoft office, but this is the closest section I can get.

I just installed outlook and am using it for the first time. I added an email and it shows up on the left, but I also want it to show up at the top where my favorites are. Like in the image.

It shows up in my email underneath the line, but I also want it to show up on top of the line in my favorites inbox. Please help.

To have an mail folder appear in Favorites in Outlook, Right mouse click the folder and choose Add to Favorites (this is Outlook 2010).
