I am tryin to install snort-2.6.0.1 on linux(fedora 7).
Its a .tar file,after extracting we are executin the ./configure command
which is working.
but when i am trying 'make' command its giving me following error:
make: *** No targets specified and no makefile found. Stop.
this same error is given for 'make install'.
please tell whats going wrong & how to make?
Jump to PostHave you looked at the configure.log to see what other errors might be reported? I've never come across that one in all the years I've been running Snort. Can you paste the stdout after you type "make", or is that the only line displayed?

this looks like the makefile just isn't there.
