could anyone please tell me why my daughterinlaws computers modem comes up with NO VIDEO INPUT......&the modem makes a loud buzzing noise.

I doubt the buzzing noise is coming from the modem.
Try to explain this better-What kind of computer, what kind of internet connection, and just what device you think is a "Modem".

Sounds like you mean monitor instead of modem (the display/tv screen part). The no video input could mean a few things, but generally when the monitor is buzzing it's bad news. If you have speakers, move them away from the monitor and see if the buzzing persists. If so, you probably need to replace the monitor.
