i am testing security tools on networks if i was to have a router could i still test it out as in to crack it even if it doesnt have internet hooked up to it so its just the computers

As long as the other computers are connected to the routers network.

so if i think its called lan is not pluged in could i still share files accross the network and stuff also can i do remote administering and like set up wirelless security then crack into it

also if i was to sniff packets on the network would it still work if im sending a file to the other computer or does it only sniff from the net
