The problem with most routers is that they forget the ARP table after a short while. WOL over the internet works for a short period of time, then it doesn't anymore.
Has anybody an idea how to set up a router software to be able to wake up a device with a specified IP and port number? Do I have to install something like a static route?

I use static IPs for my WOL setup at home. What type of router are you running and what method to poke the WOL-enabled computer are you using?

I use static IP too; but the router forgets after a short while its ARP table, I think. The method ist the standard WOL: send a magic packet to the broadcast address together with the MAS address of the device to wake.
