The virus that won't just die...

Based on other threads on the same subject, I ran MBAM before I decided to post. Running ESET scan right now, and HijackThis.

This is the log from MBAM, I am not too clear as to what to do to get rid of this, but it seems to have worked for the other posters.

After the scan was done, it rebooted the computer; I was unable to find a log after the system came back on... the Logs folder was empty.

What's the diagnosis, doctor?

You need to clear the Java cache. To clear the Java Plug-in cache:

  • Click Start > Control Panel.
  • Double-click the Java icon in the control panel.
    The Java Control Panel appears.
  • Click Settings under Temporary Internet Files.
    The Temporary Files Settings dialog box appears.
  • Click Delete Files.
    The Delete Temporary Files dialog box appears.

There are three options on this window to clear the cache.

  • Delete Files
  • View Applications
  • View Applets
  • Click OK on Delete Temporary Files window.
    Note: This deletes all the Downloaded Applications and Applets from the cache.
  • Click OK on Temporary Files Settings window.

Now, close all instances of Internet Explorer and any other windows you have open except HiJackThis, click "Fix checked".
