Hi and welcome to the Daniweb forums :).

==========

Have you already fixed anything with hijackthis? If so, you need to restore them and post another log.
It is unusual to see a log with so few entries.

i restored the backups.......any better?

i restored the backups.......any better?

Slightly :).

Can you please do the following.

===============

Scan with HijackThis and then place a check next to all the following, if present:

O2 - BHO: WormRadar.com IESiteBlocker.NavFilter - {3CA2F312-6F6E-4B53-A66E-4E65E497C8C0} - C:\Program Files\AVG\AVG8\avgssie.dll (file missing)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {FDD3B846-8D59-4ffb-8758-209B6AD74ACC} - (no file)

O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Restrictions present
O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel present
O6 - HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Restrictions present
O6 - HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel present
...(Unless you've set these with an anti-spyware program like SpyBot's Immunize feature, have HiJackThis fix this.)

O23 - Service: Viewpoint Manager Service - Unknown owner - C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Common\ViewpointService.exe (file missing)

Now, close all instances of Internet Explorer and any other windows you have open except HiJackThis, click "Fix checked".

===============

After rebooting, rescan with hijackthis and post back a new log.
What are you using for an anti-virus?

right now i'd love to figure out how to unblock all those antivirus websites and be able update the antivirus programs again. is this happening to a lot of people recently?

I'm using these programs spybot, malwarebytes, hijackthis, ccleaner, spywareblaster .......too much?

No, but I do not see an anti-virus. You MUST have one installed.

Please download ComboFix by sUBs from HERE or HERE

  • You must download it to and run it from your Desktop
  • Physically disconnect from the internet.
  • Now STOP all your monitoring programs (Antivirus/Antispyware, Guards and Shields) as they could easily interfere with ComboFix.
  • Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
  • When finished, it will produce a log. Please save that log to post in your next reply along with a fresh HJT log
  • Re-enable all the programs that were disabled during the running of ComboFix..

Note:
Do not mouse-click combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

CF disconnects your machine from the internet. The connection is automatically restored before CF completes its run. If CF runs into difficulty and terminates prematurely, the connection can be manually restored by restarting your machine.

Run Combofix ONCE only!!

i have an old version of norton, and i just downloaded avast. is avast any good?

both links for combofix aren't working. can't connect to server

Firefox can't find the server at download.bleepingcomputer.com

i'm gonna head to bed for the night, thank you so much for your help, hopefully we can pick this up tomorrow.....i plan to download combofix from a computer at work and burn to a cd, then bring it to my home computer, that should solve that problem.

Ok. Remember to run it only once.
