***** End of Report *****

Please tell us your exact computer configuration. We can't judge whether the report is accurate or making things up.

From what I could see, you appear to have an older computer (the 64MB Video card is the clue).

the other thing we need from you is to run TASK MANAGER; go to the Processor Tab; click on the CPU column twice; the applications using the CPU will be listed with a % number next to them.

Write the list and % down from the top and post back here.

thanks again for your time...cheers

the highest CPU is iexplorer.exe and vary from %65 to %91

Look at your memory numbers:
256 + 256 = 512.
Report shows 384 (256 + 128)
Check this out, and upgrade to 1 GB while you're at it.
See if ATI has a driver update.
Check Windows Update for drivers and other updates.

@ hughv
I think/guess the Belarc report does things the lazy way for RAM. It looks to me that 128K is the knock-off for device address mapping, of which 64K is her Video RAM.

@ sandra2906
IE at > 61% is not right. I'm sitting here doing this and IE shows 0%. You've done a fresh install (did that install a fresh copy of IE?). If you're not on IE7 I suggest you move there to wipe out the old copy of IE as a precaution.

What would make IE busy, apart from malware? It could be a logon that requires authentication in certain circumstances. Web-mail has been known to do this.

So what happens? You boot Windows, load IE, it goes to your home page (which is???) and doing nothing from your end, consumes >60% CPU? What if you go to a different site?

You can see that from this distance we need lots of information.

thanks guys for all leads, i guess i will buy at least 1 gig of memory or a new computer:).
sandra
