I have win xp home edition and I just noticed that when I open Task Manager, 3 incidents of Internet Explorer are running under processes altough I am not on the internet.
Is this normal?

..hi there!..its not normal!..try to repair your operating system..If the issue still continues then reformat your PC!..don't forget to back up all your datas..i hope it helps!..^_^..

Thanks for the replies. I did all the malware removal suggestions.
Then, I did two things and it is fixed. Not sure what worked. I found that IE8 was trying to install in the background. I let it install. Then I reset IE. Found out how to do that from a google.
All is good now
