i know i need to reset a bunch of things but i need to be able to type in things first... any idea/suggestion?

First time when you switch on the router than it will ask a msg that you need to configure the initial configuration (yes/no)?????so 99% will type no,so when you see this msg just type no and press enter..
after you can configure you router how you want,if not let me know???

I pasted everything I saw on the console in the previous thread. I don't think there was such a message. So far I haven't been able to type anything to any command prompt and get response. = (

thanks

i started to suspect that whoever sold me the router had set a long timeout for the dns lookup. so the "Translating "whatever hostname" ... domain server (255.255.255.255)" goes on forever.

What a prank!..

is there anyway to break the dns lookup? = (

if yes,do this and try.......

go to global confi mood and type this command

Imras#confi t
Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.
Imras(config)#no
Imras(config)#no ip
Imras(config)#no ip domain-loo
Imras(config)#no ip domain-lookup
Imras(config)#exit
Imras#

now it should work.......

if any error than post to me

thanks..but again i am not able to be at any mode. mainly because "PASSWORD RECOVERY FUNCTIONALITY IS DISABLED"

ROMMON mode is locked.

i think i have googled any possible to unlock it.. but no luck.. no removable backup battery.. no removable NVRAM.. i guess i have purchased a potato device.

I am experiencing the same problem...did you ever resolve the issue?

if ROMMON mode is locked and password recovery is disabled..then it would take the impossible to break it..
