I have been experiencing intermittent connectivity problems with my broadband for the last few weeks. It manifests itself with the "network cable is unplugged" message. I have checked the cable is plugged in and have connected using another laptop without any problems.

is it a bad connection on the computer, if its ethernet - what happens if you connect the computer to the laptop?

Hi Darren - I hadn't thought of doing that. I have simply used the same eithernet connection on both laptops. Are you suggesting running an ethernet cable between the two laptops directly?
