Yea, and if its a program that wont go away (trojan, in use etc) try Dr. Delete to delete it on startup.

Did you just buy it new? It is called "bloatware." manufacutres load laptops with crap software to promote partnerships with other companies.

There are ways to speed things up, but that requires more software, which defeats the purpose. I would suggest formating the hard drive and resinstalling everyhting from scratch. that way you KNOW what is on there, and what is running.

LOL you sure got that right.It is actually how they keep the price down but then the buyer pays the ultimate price of a bogged down PC.

hi
Download a fairly good freeware from this link
http://download.sysinternals.com/Files/ProcessExplorer.zip
USe this tool to determine which are the processes having Boot up authorization. Mostly they will be clubbed inside svchost.exe files. Click on any svchost entry and go to properties. Check out which are the services u can discard. that's it. remove them.

Also go to run type regedit and naviagate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
then remove all that u feel are not required. Don't touch the ones from system32 folder.

hope you get to solve your problem this way. You can also use a tool TweakXP which is a freeware. please go to the site http://www.onlinedown.com

All the best

Hi,
Just follow the few steps :

First of all, restart your system in Safe-Mode, for that keep holding the F8 key when your system is restarting and then choose
"Safe-Mode with Networking Option" or "Safe-Mode".

Now, Kindly go to : Start > Run > and there type in "%temp%" (It will open up the Temporary Folder of your currently logged on User)
So, just select all the files/folders present there and delete them permanently.

After this go to : Start > Run > and this time type in

%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5

"It will open up the "Temporary Internet Files" folder, so just remove all of its contents.

After that kindly perform a Disk Defragmentation (Start > Program > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Defragmenter).

Then, please go to : Internet Explorer > Tools > Internet Options > there click on the "Delete Files" and "Delete Cookies" buttons one by one.

After this kindly run another DiskCleanup of your PC by going to Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Cleanup.

Now, do a copy-paste of the following colored Data into a notepad and save it as "quick.reg" and double click on the same and choose YES to have these implemented for good.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop]
"ActiveWndTrkTimeout"=dword:00000000
"ForegroundFlashCount"=dword:00000000
"ForegroundLockTimeout"=dword:00030d40
"GridGranularity"="0"
"HungAppTimeout"="500"
"LowPowerActive"="0"
"LowPowerTimeOut"="0"
"PowerOffActive"="0"
"PowerOffTimeOut"="0"
"ScreenSaveTimeOut"="500"
"WaitToKillAppTimeout"="5000"
"AutoEndTasks"=dword:00000001
"MenuShowDelay"="0"

When all this has been done, kindly run a fresh scan of your system using your software.

Now, restart your PC and go to : http://www.windowsupdate.com and download install any/all the latest Update Patches available for your system.

Now, click on [Start button] > [Run] there type in regedit

Then, navigate to the following Registry Key:-

+HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
-SYSTEM
-CurrentControlSet

Now, just select that Memory Management Key and look at the right hand side pane, you may find a key named as :: ClearPageFileAtShutdown,
Just double click on it and set its value to 0 Then, press the F5 key and close the Registry.

REGISTRY EDITING IS NOT NECESSARY JUST DELETE FILES, DISK CLEANUP AND DEFRAG ARE NECESSARY.. THAT WILL GREATLY IMPROVE PERFORMANCE...

You should run disk defrag AFTER deleting you internet history, and cookies. The whole point of defrag is to compact the files when moving/deleting large files, or large amounts of files.
