I am very much confused with one site.

It is of 12000 Page website similar to B2B portal.

I want to know how to optimize such website and how to build links to get higher rank??

Many pages in your portal you need to do on-site and off-site optimization for the website. Place Title tags, Meta Description tags in every pages accordingly. Add your website to more and more relevant resources for gaining more traffic and visitors.

I have placed meta tag for each page... every new generated page has pass from meta tags .. I want to know the Link building strategies for gaining higher rank

Besides Link building what can we do to rank high?
