In windows you have
windows, prog files, etc
I recently moved to Ubuntu and have no big Idea of what is which. I need help to corresponding folder hierrachy

You can't exactly map each Windows directory to a corresponding Unix directory, but here's an article that goes over the uses of most of the common directories in a standard Unix filesystem.
