Blocked websites..

I Live in a Hostel with a wi-fi network. Sites like orkut, facebook, gaming forums are blocked on the network.Also torrents are blocked. I guess they are blocked with a filter called Fortiguard Web Filter. Is there any way I can bypass these filters and access all the blocked sites fully.
Are there any softwares that can do this? Can IP hiding softwares be used to bypass the filter?

If the blocks have been put on by the owners of the Hostel, then we would be breaking their rules by helping you.

Not sure it can be done anyway.

Yes there are way to get around it.
