When going to certain web sites example microsoft update, hotmail, credit card, etc. I get page can not be displayed or a blank screen. Some web sites load just fine. Can someone Please Help?

Open Task Manager & end process on the following:
ALCXMNTR.EXE

Then go to C:\WINDOWS & delete ALCXMNTR.EXE

Close all (browser) windows & rescan with hijackthis. When the scan is finished place a check in the box to the left of the following entries & click 'fix checked':

Please go here and have this file scanned.

I deleted the files and entries indicated and now internet explorer works fine.
