Hi guys, Error- collect2.exe:fatal error:cannot find 'ld' compilation terminated Compiler:gcc library:mingw I have done quite a bit of internet search and followed a discussion pertaining to this on daniweb,but to no avail.Am working on code blocks. Initially there was no problem, then i linked libws2_32.a and even though it compiled for some time with no problem, but then it started giving me the error collect2: cannot find `ld'. I have reinstalled codeblocks, ld.bfd.exe is present in mingw, however the problem persists. I even tried using the ld.exe from another user, but it did not work, it crashes midway.(It was just …

Dear all, I am certainly not an expert in C++ development but after some time, I had some code running and compiling for a bio-informatics tool. As always in Science, I changed my area of research of a while and when I came back to my tool, I had changed my computer (and my gcc version) in between. In the program, I run several threads that call a function. This is where the function run_es_pval is called (and where the error message takes place) for (int i = 0; i < threadNb; i++) { int start = i * datasetPerThread; …

Hello! After I compile and run my program a windows error message shows up, it doesn't give some specific information it's just a standard windows xp error that asks me to send report. It gives me the error because in my code I have some basic math like this: int e = a - b; int r = c - d; int w = e / r; Even if I make a simple console program with only those lines , it still gives me the error. I'm using the latest version of DEV C++ on windows XP.

I am using visual studio 2010. I wanted to compile my cpp from cmd. I can compile it using "cl file.cpp" comand in visual studio developer command line tool. But I wanted to compile it from the built in cmd of windows. When I try to use the command "cl file.cpp" it does not recognize the command. I even tried to cd to cl.exe path and run from there but then it gives a mspdb110.dll is missing error. I herd that we need to put environment variables but I am not able to find anywhere which variables to set.

Hi everyone, I just finished to implement my first "serious" C++ program on my laptop. When I compile it (on my laptop and some other machine), it is working without the least problem.
g++ -g -pthread -std=c++0x compute_gsea_thread_global_map_opt_results.cpp -o compute_gsea.out
When I try to compile it on one of the big computer (with 24 cores) of our institution, I first found that I had to use this command as g++ by default is a quite old version of it.
g++44 -g -pthread -std=c++0x compute_gsea_thread_global_map_opt_results.cpp -o compute_gsea.out
However, I get this error when using that command :
/tmp/sbrohee/ccMGMUfo.o: In function `writeToFile(std::basic_string<char, …

Hey All, I've been stumbling into the same (annoying little) problem a couple of times, and I'd like to find out how to fix it properly. Pseudo code
// file A.hpp #include "classB.hpp" class A { A() }; // file A.cpp A::A() { }

// file B.hpp #include "classA.hpp" class B { B() }; // file B.cpp B::B() { }
Notice how they're basically two normal classes, except that the both include the other. I do have #ifndef CLASS_A / CLASS_B in the headers (header gaurds). If i do #include "classA.hpp" in file classB.cpp I get …

I searched all over the net about separation compilation but I'm really unsure of the resources I've read because they talk about the separate processes in compiling a program such as syntax checking, code optimization and converting to machine code.... Something tells me that this is not separation compilation. I'd really appreciate it if someone can confirm what really is separation compilation..:)

I'm compiling assemblies in code called from a WebService (which makes user being IIS_USR, and TEMP-directory being C:\Windows\Temp). The assembly is created alright, but it's not loaded (get exception with "Access Denied"). I want to solve this by specifying where CompileAssemblyFromDom should put the assemblies. (I don't want to have to change credentials or access rights.) Can I do that? Thanks for any help!

I am studying viruses and trying to figure out how the FLEX module works for C++. I have taken classes before on regular languages, context free, etc. Is FLEX dealing with regular languages or regular expressions, and also what is the difference exactly? Could you give an example of how a flex program works and or point me to a link that does? How it integrates with C++? I am trying to use it to scan for particular code in viruses as a parser.

In my program that uses separate compilation, the only problem I have left is a linker error. To see if it was just a syntax error somewhere obscure, I made a simple "hello world" program that uses separate compilation. I get the same error. The code is below. If someone knows what is wrong, that would be awesome if they could help. The header file:
//file name: Hello.h #ifndef HELLO_H #define HELLO_H #include <iostream> using namespace std; class Hello { public: Hello(int x); }; #endif //HELLO_H
The implementation file:
//file name: Hello.cpp #include <iostream> #include "Hello.h" using namespace …
