My problem is that I wish to use a single mouse click (or key press) to "turn on" a set of conditions then I will "turn off" the conditions when a different requirement is met. Alas! Every time I release the mouse button the bool reverts to its initialized state. I do not want it to do that and I do not want to set it to "toggle" on and off with each mouse click either. Here are some examples of what has failed: // first, simple failure bool start = false; if (dbMouseClick()) start = true; // another unsuccessful …

I am trying to create a simple scoring function using sprite collision. I have my sprite ids defined under a seperate header and my class is in order. LEFT_SCORE is animated using a sprite sheet (obviously). int Ball::leftGoal( ) { int leftScore = 1; if (dbSpriteCollision (BALL, 12)) {++leftScore;} dbSetSpriteFrame (LEFT_SCORE, leftScore); return 0; } The output I am getting is that leftScore increases as expected and the LEFT_SCORE sprite acts appropriately... But, the score never tallies. It works only while the two sprites (BALL and 12) are actually touching. After that the value of leftScore returns to 1. I …

Hi Daniweb! I'm going nuts here, this is my first IT problem I as a softwaredeveloper hasn't been able to solve myself... I'm just not that much hardware guy as I wanted to really be I guess.. :( *I have written a short synopsis of my problem, since my post got really long. You can read it first and decide if you are unable to help, as you don't have to read the rest then and use time on my post that is potentially thrown away for you, as it became quite long.* **Synopsis:** My computer has started about a …

Hi I have managed to establish that my Dell laptop 6400 does not have a problem with generating display data. Connecting an external monitor provides a perfect picture. There is data going to the LCD screen but it is very dark. A web search suggests that I replace the inverter. I have done that but still have the problem. I have checked to see whether the new inverter was connected up properly and it is. I have run Dell Diagnostics and there is an error: "2000-0322 Error accessing the LCD inverter" On reflection, I should have run the diagnostics before …
