But I suspect it has something to do ith low RAM and/or background programs. Check out your task manager to see if you have any programs taking up too much of memory, like more than 15k bytes (Right click on taskbar>task manager>processes tab). However, after changing back the setting to Automatic it still doesn't pick up the wireless signal. Can anyone advise what else i need to do to restore back to normal? thanks yaduks. Even if there is one, the algorithm would be the same as yours. So it wont solve the performance issue.
