I think its clear, it jist has a load of crap set to load on startup which is probably what is making your PC slow hang around for a while and hopefully "crunchie" will take a look. hes real good at spyware/malware etc...

I agree with jb. Use msconfig to disable unneeded startups. Also, you may want to clear out all your temp folders, Prefetch folder and defragment your hard drive.

Things like realplayer and adobe acrobat especially. They are set to load on startup and slow the PC down. Check that your [I]Start -> All Programs -> Startup folder [/I]is enpty too. Hi again I've done everything asked of, but it's still starting up very slow. Takes a couple of minutes to load up. The computer seems to be working ok, maybe a tad slow. Thanks again for any further help.

Well its happening due to resource holes which caused by malicious infection and WMI performance adapter unable to manage them. Hi I've already used Ccleaner, but I ran it again, it removed anything it found. I ran the online Panda scan, it said I had no problems, it also didn't give me a log. I'll look into doing this Windows Repair now, thanks.

It wouldn't let me do the windows repair. I ran the install XP disc, it checked my computer, it said I can't reinstall Windows cause SP2 had been updated. Anyone got any tips, this is driving me crazy. My PC takes about 4 minutes to boot up. I've also done a malware scan with a tool off the microsoft site, that found nothing. This backdoor …
