Well, we have a thread on North American Thoughts, but DaniWeb is an international community. So I put up this thread to ask for the thoughts, any thoughts, from our international friends.

Any thoughts about their country's leadership, politics, economy, education, beauty, worries, weather .....

We are all curious to learn.

One company manages France's 59 nuclear power plants. These plants produce 88% of France's electrical power. The design is optimized for safety and standardized mostly around 3 sizes of pressurized water reactors.

We have the lowest electricity cost in Europe. Strangely enough France exports large amounts of electricty to Germany, one country that stopped all new nuclear power generation because of their hysterical Greens.

I think all the power plants have been built by one French manufacturer, who presently is building large number of them for China.

Hehe :)
You should have ruled the country before it got all screwed up, much easier! After all, an ounce of prevention is worth a ton of correction! I assume England isn't the only country in Europe that is all screwed up?

Whatever happened to the one guy we called Bush's Poodle? Can't remember his name, it started with a B me thinks!

Whatever happens, please keep the fantastic British humour going!

The previous prime minister was Tony Blair, also an idiot, and the current one is Gordon Brown, a very big idiot. Basically the entire Labour party are out to make our lives a living fortress of DOOM, by taxing us, and making us a nany state, where we cant do anything for ourselves.

Such it is the legacy of socialism. Sad you have to live under it; glad you are realizing it.

China's central bank just announced that its foreign-exchange reserves rose to a record $1.905 trillion. Compare that to a US debt of $11.4 trillion. How is your country doing?

Margaret Thatcher once wrote,

During my lifetime most of the problems the world has faced have come, in one fashion or other, from mainland Europe, and the solutions from outside it.

agree that tony blair and gordon brown are both idiots. David cameron is worse though. There is no real alternative.

kind of like the SNP as far as local stuff is concerned

I was reading some stories about the political forces in the UK and I can hardly believe how narrowly the political parties were/are defined. Sometimes it would take 4 or 5 adjectives to define what sort of labo(u)r party they belonged to and they would fight the other guy if any of the adjectives were different. I imagine pub life was interesting.

I like these typically British qoutes:

Silence is golden, but the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

The pen is mightier than the sword, but actions speak louder than words.

Wise men think alike, and fools seldom differ.

Doubt is the beginning of wisdom, however faith will move mountains.

Clothes make the man, as long as you never judge a book by its cover.

Good things come in small packages, but remember the bigger the better.

For the last eight years the Bush administration has treated most European countries like a convenient place to whip their feet on. Observing European news one can't fail to see that most of those countries would love to get Obama into power.

Yeah i'm fed up with the bush administration and im really glad its going. I spent today watching the election and from here in Australia you get the general feel that people here would rather Obama in.

Here we have Kevin Rudd in and he is a pretty young guy with a lot of the same ideals for the world as Obama, addmitedly a lot more boring and less inspiring but nevertheless still spouting lots of change. I rekon it will be interseting to see how other world leader will warm to Obama once he is in. Cause i agree that the bush admin really treated other countries badly at some points. In Oz it was often portayed many times by cartoons and other things that John Howard was George Bushes dog to do his bidding. I hope that with senetor Obama comes a new age in American relations with the political world.
