Your PSU (Power Supply Unit) could be blown. Change that. Next on the list would be a dead mobo, but that doesn't make the fan dead. So, PSU is the most suspicious cause.

When I power the computer on, everything starts to work but nothing is displayed on the screen yet when it just shuts down. [i]Have you tried swapping the graphic card? How do you know that everything is working? Do you hear the Windows Welcome sound on your speaker?[/i]

Did you write anything on the old partition? If you did, the normal data recovery software will not work. Try R-Studio which is available at [code]http://www.r-tt.com/[/code]

Check that the CPU, RAM, and Video card is connected correctly and securely. Did you connect the speaker pins to the motherboard?
