Hello

I am Chris Hills from Melbourne Australia.

I first learn to program in Fortran in 1978. Our lecturers told us not to bother with the new programming language, Basic, as it would never amount to much, only Art students would use it!!!

I am in the process of catching up and have viewed this forum for a while.

I look foward to learning from you all.

Thanks.

Hi Chris, welcome to the forum! So what other languages did you use between 1978 and now?

Succesfully?

Unfortunately none.

I am trying to find a good introduction to VB+ for starters (if it still exists!).

With only a background in Fortran do you have any suggestions as to what would be the best way to progress from my current situation (you can say Give Up if it is the best option LOL 8-)

I am open to any suggestions.

Perhaps this would be an interesting problem to present to the members?

In all seriousness any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.
