I am developing an app for a church. They have the following website
http://www.cpcofc.org/?core=Webpages&page=Newsline
On their app, they would like to only show the content embedded (no links, no logo at the top, just stats and news). How could I go about doing that. I will post the source of this webpage, but there does not appear to be any ID tags, just class name 'cmain_a cmain_b'. I try typing in http://www.cpcofc.org/?core=Webpages&page=Newsline/document.getElementByClassName('cmain_a cmain_b') but that doesn't return anything. Any suggestions?

At a guess - the url is pointing to an index.??? that is parsing the instruction for a template called Webpages and an include of Newsline.

I don't know anything about Wordpress or its relatives, but I can just about guarantee that page is being fed from a php template. You might also want to look inside all those javascript calls for wisdata.php - those are generating something.

I don't really understand what you are saying. The code I listed is for the page on their website that pulls Newsline. I only want the actual Newsline content in a webpage I am building.

What I'm trying to say is that the page you see on your browser is not the source of what is being sent to the browser. URL is calling for something after a question mark - that normally indicates information being sent to a script that gives it specifics about what is being asked for. In this case, '?core=Webpages&page=Newsline' is telling a script that it needs to do something with a variable named 'core' which has been set to equal 'Webpages' and a variable named 'page' which has been set to 'Newsline'.

You need to know what the server is actually doing. Is this URL pointing to an index.php or something else and what is that script asking for and doing.

As an example: http://www.bigapricot.net/cgi-bin/bydate.pl?9/19/2010

I won't print the page here as what's rendered by the browser is messy and simply huge - but what's happening is the script bydate.pl is being given '9/19/2010' as data and is using that information to do 'something'. This particular script (all of 279 lines of it) takes that data, opens another file and finds the data there related to the query, then opens another file to create the date table you see in the browser.

There is no file named 'bydate.pl?9/19/2010' on that server. In fact, what is fed to the browser comes from three different perl scripts and three data files. If I want to edit something, I have to go to the file where that particular information is.

In your case, you need to find out what script is actually putting things together for the browser and how it's doing it. In the simplest case, it's a script using a template called 'Webpages' that just calls for the 'Newsline' section to be included.

Worst case scenario - the information you need to edit is spread over 25 scripts.
