Hi,

I am using SourceTree/Git as the source code control repository for my project. I want to use the GitFlow method of working. There is an excellent menu built into SourceTree, which scripts the necessary Git commands to perform GitFlow. Everything is perfect except for one thing: I keep forgetting to click New Feature before I begin working on source files. Because Git does not work on the check-out model, I can't think of a way to stop myself making this simple but annoying mistake. If I were using Subversion, for example, the file would read-only until I checked it out, which acts as a barrier to making mistakes such as this.

I've done a lot of Googling on this, and I suspect there is no easy solution, but if anyone has any ideas, I'd be most grateful.

Kind wishes ~ Patrick
