Hi, can somebody tell me why, when posting a question rather than a thread, the attachment icon isn't there? See attachment: ![iconMissing.jpg](/attachments/large/2/2bd43dc257fa6a3dad8e05739ffbc6d0.jpg "align-center")

Hi All, Been a bit bored, so went at it to create a class from some long procedural stuff I found littered in various guises all over the web. The code I used as a base for the class came from [here](http://www.codediesel.com/php/downloading-gmail-attachments-using-php/). As this uses IMAP functions and many of you out there use XAMPP on your local machines, ensure that you enable it in php.ini before testing this script. Search the file for `;extension=php_imap.dll` and take off the preceding semi-colon to leave `extension=php_imap.dll`. Save the file. You then need to restart Apache. Usage is pretty simple - just three …

Hello all, I am by no means a coder, so hopefully someone has something they would be willing to share that would meet this need. I would like to have a Outlook rule, where: - When an email comes in from a specific account - Has an attachment (PDF, doc, docx, tff only) - Saves the attachment to a folder (say on desktop) I would like this done to maybe 3-5 different email accounts, and bonus points if it could then delete the email completely after. I would be using outlook 2010. Any one have something that would work?

Hello, I am developing a site with Codeigniter 2.1.3. I am creating a pdf file with mpdf and I save the file in a folder outside the root folder. So my folders look like this: c:/mysite/uploads/mypdffile.pdf c:/mysite/public_html I looked at all kind of tutorials and forum posts about the php header function, but I can't understand how to use it to get the file. I am using: `$mail->AddAttachment($mypdf)` but how do I get the file if it is in a folder outside the root folder? Can someone please help? Thank you

I am happy with sending an email using PHP, i would like to know how to send an attachment also in my email: ` <?php $to = "es@yahoo.com"; $subject = "Sent by portal"; $message = "Get attachment"; $from = "se@gmail.com"; $file = $_POST['ah']; function mail_attachment($to, $subject, $message, $from, $file) { // $file should include path and filename $filename = basename($file); $file_size = filesize($file); $content = chunk_split(base64_encode(file_get_contents($file))); $uid = md5(uniqid(time())); $from = str_replace(array("\r", "\n"), '', $from); // to prevent email injection $header = "From: ".$from."\r\n" ."MIME-Version: 1.0\r\n" ."Content-Type: multipart/mixed; boundary=\"".$uid."\"\r\n\r\n" ."This is a multi-part message in MIME format.\r\n" ."--".$uid."\r\n" ."Content-type:text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1\r\n" …

I erroneously uploaded an image to this thread: http://www.daniweb.com/web-development/php/threads/446683/database-forms-how-to-protect-with-magic-quotes I deleted the markdown in the post, which cleared the image from the post body, but it still has the image in an 'attachment box'. Is this expected?

I am trying to send an email via php with an attchment. Before anyone suggests using pear or swiftmailer I am aware of all of them but have a host who refuses to install any of them on my clients hosting account. So I am stuck with writing this function from scratch. Anyway my code half works in that it is sending me an email but without the attachment and in the body of the email I see the following This is a multi-part message in MIME format. --==Multipart_Boundary_x9cb327f93cc70e9f329be5f652ca6252x-- Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit --==Multipart_Boundary_x9cb327f93cc70e9f329be5f652ca6252x Content-Type: pdf; name="zwgScheduleMar" Content-Disposition: attachment; …

A client of ours uses Outlook 2007. They have recently reported an issue with attaching files to emails. Here is the issue that pops up... ![Image1](/attachments/large/3/Image1.gif "Image1") This happens when trying to open a folder to find the file to attach. This only happens with a couple of the folders. Other folders open fine to attach the designated/intended file. Obviously it's a permissions problem, but where and how? Or more importantly what's the fix? The users (with the issue) have access to these folders outside of Outlook. They are however limited to specific sub-folders within the main folder. Much a …

I am unable to attach documents. I click on Files add the document but it seems like the part that says Upload Attachments should be a button to attach the documents but it's not indicated as a button. Is there something I should do to get an attachment to attach to a discussion?

Hi Guys, I'm quickl writing a little application which sends an email via SMTP and has the option to add a attachment. This is working fine however, When I went to send a email without attaching a file the Error Message I get is the following **"The Parameter 'fileName' cannot be an empty string. Parameter: fileName"** I can understand that the system is expecting there to be a file to link (which does work when wanting to attach a file) but I'm not to sure where to add the conditioning so that the attach method would only be called IF …

When you are attaching a file to thread don't use # for a file name it will give 404 not found page. [Example](http://www.daniweb.com/software-development/csharp/threads/425890/problem-connecting-c-app-to-a-.mdf-file-in-sql-management-studio)

Okay I'm sure you read the title and rolled your eyes, but I can't seem to figure this out - so I need some help. I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to php. I've read a bunch of various forums threads (from here and else where), and they've helped some, but I'm still having trouble. From what I understand I know the user needs to find a file from there comp and upload it in the html form, then the file goes to the server, and (what I haven't been able to find/figure out) the file is …

I need to create a very simple script with php. Just a simple form with an input field for the users name and another for the users email address. They click submit, and the script sends an email to that address, while attaching a PDF file that I specify in the script. I've found many scripts out there that encompassed the user attaching a file and submitting but not the opposite where the user just gives their name & desired email address and the email & attachment is sent to them. As a bonus I was hoping to either (A) …

Hi, all, Got no idea what causes this: My sister sends a JPG attachment from her Mac (OS 10.6, not sure what else you'd need to know) to someone with Windows who uses AOL. The attachment comes up with an ASPX extension at the Windows end. Huh? Then I try it on my aging PC (XP SP2). The attachment comes up fine when I view it with Safari, but it's just a red X in Explorer. Huh?!? Does anyone know what causes this? Thanks, Peg

Hello! I'm looking to create a simple form with PHP that will allow users to attach multiple files. For example, I'd like to offer these five fields: - First Name (text) - Last Name (text) - Word Document (browse) - PDF Document (browse) - Excel Document (browse) I am new to PHP, but have access to a server that already has PHP compiled onto it. It's very old; but I remember that when it was compiled, that it allowed users to attach files to a form which then wrote them into a database. Because of this, I believe that this …

I have the following code that is very simple and gets information from form fields and mails it off. The issue is that when the email is received using Microsoft Outlook 2003 the message is blank and the actual message that is supposed to be there is an attached HTML file. This, as you can imagine, would be tedious to open every time a message is received. [CODE] <?php $recipient = "name@email.com"; $subject = "Message from ".$_REQUEST['YourName']; $headers="From: ".$_REQUEST['YourEmail']."\n"; $headers.="Content-type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"; $message = "<p>A ".$_REQUEST['EnquiryType']." from ".$_REQUEST['YourName']." has been received</p> <b>The message is as follows: </b><p>".$_REQUEST['YourMessage']."</p> <p><b>Sender Details</b><br/>Email: ".$_REQUEST['YourEmail']."<br/>Tel: …

Hi, I'm sure this has been discussed here somewhere, but I can't find exactly what I want... I have a form set up that is sent to different email addresses based on field selections. Sometimes that user will need to attach a file to send too. I have found code to enable the user to upload a file (to server or to Access Database) (thank you Lewis E. Moten III: [url]http://www.pscode.com/vb/scripts/ShowCode.asp?txtCodeId=7361&lngWId=4[/url]), but I cannot find anything on how to attach the uploaded file to the email sent to end-user, on submission. Any help much appreciated!

I've noticed some inconsistencies in the way different Outlook version handle the file creation and modification timestamps for saved attachments. Whenever my coworker (running Outlook 2007 SP2 on Windows XP) saves an attachment, it is timestamped using the moment that the attachment was saved to the file system. However, whenever I save an attachment (using Outlook 2003 SP3 on Windows 7) it is assigned the file's original creation and modification timestamps from the source computer. My Google searches have been largely unfruitful, ending mostly in, "Perhaps the customer is not remembering properly?" regarding the customer remembering that Outlook would save …
