I am trying to establish a connection between LibreOffice (5.4.6.2) and Mariadb (10.1.29)/mysql. I have researched various resources on the web but am stuck not being able to establish a connection preliminary steps taken: * the file mariadb-java-client-2.4.0.jar is downloaded from [https://downloads.mariadb.com/Connectors/java/connector-java-2.3.0/](https://downloads.mariadb.com/Connectors/java/connector-java-2.3.0/) * JRE is installed and enabled under LibreOffice Tools > Options > Advanced * in that Advanced tab, Class Path is set with `mariadb-java-client-2.4.0.jar` (I have tried with a path `/opt/mariadb-java-client-2.4.0.jar` and `/home/<my user name>/mariadb-java-client-2.4.0.jar`) Based on web site and youtube tutorials, the next steps are to connect via LibreOffice Base. My wife got a VeryfitPro fitness monitor for Christmas. I have the app loaded on my Android (6) phone and was hoping to install a companion app on my Windows 10 laptop but the only thing available is to install an Android emulator on Windows 10 then load the phone app into that. I did a google search and found a list of the 7 best emulators. The list was 1. BlueStacks 1. Remix OS Player 1. Droid4x 1. MEmu 1. Nox Player 1. AMIDuOS 1. Windroy I tried Bluestacks and ended up at an online poker site. Remix resulted …

Hi, I am using Windows 10 on my Core i5 laptop. from last 1 month I am facing an issue. This issue does'nt arise every time. Sometimes I logged into windows account without any problem, but some times it takes hours to go to the logon screen. It shows "Attempting Repair" or Attempting Automatic Repair screen when I power on my laptop. After some time it goes to the next screen where I select the Advanced Option and from there I select Exit and continue to Windows 10. After that laptop restart and same process begins, attempting repair scren and …

This may not be the best room to post this in but I didn't see any room that really jumped out at me for this, and since I'm doing all this on Linux desktop it made sense. I'm having trouble placing the meta data (artists, album, title) for a .wav song that I have. Through using three different programs I'm gettin different results. I can open the file in Rythmbox and select properties for the song and I can see the text fields for all the formentioned meta data above, thie fields all say 'Unknown' and the text fields aren't …

I am no Mac expert, just an old dude who has had experience with Mac computers since 1995. I read posts here to see if there are problems to which I might be able to offer possible solutions, but am often confounded by posters who offer nothing on the year of manufacture of their computer, or the operating system they are using and maybe even how much RAM they have. E.g, 2012 MB Pro with 4GB of ram running High Sierra. To me, this would seem to be the absolute minimum for a poster to provide, no? On a Mac …

Let me share how I began to understand Microsoft: A long time back when I went to Microsoft Redmond's campus for a seminar. I had two things I wanted to share since I thought Microsoft would want to look into this. 1. A CD that when put into the PC would cause the PC to lock up. I didn't know why, I just thought it showed a bug. 2. A jpeg file that when copied to the desktop would render that user's account dead. Even in safe mode until the file was deleted. I waited my turn to meet with …

One of the mantras of computing and just about anything data related is "**We only lose what we don't backup**" but some are taking offense that this is still the current state of computing today. Recently some owners call this out as "blaming the user", "you're holding it wrong" or snobby. Everyone I know will try their best to help you get your machine back in working order even if people say such things. They've lost it all and upset that they can't get their stuff back. Last week's example was another smart phone, forgot their password, unlock code and …

I try to mark content from a web-page (with pictures, hyperlinks etc) to clipboard and then paste it into Microsoft Word (belonging to the Office 365 Home suite). Then I discover problems starting with the following warning: "A potential vulnerability has been identified in Microsoft Office. This document contains fields that can share data with external files and Web sites. It is important that this file comes from a reliable source." (I do not use English as my working language, and this warning is translated to English using Google Translate... :-)) The screen is often flickering two or three times …

![liberty-air.jpg](/attachments/large/0/326b00e1c51b296338c89aa49bca54c8.jpg) Six months ago [I was reviewing](https://www.daniweb.com/hardware-and-software/hardware/mobile-and-wearables/reviews/518189/for-the-record-my-liberty-lite-earbuds-review#post2246585) my experience with another Anker 'Soundcore' earbud product, the Liberty Lites. I liked these, and they quickly became my everyday audio companion while out on my long walks in the Yorkshire countryside. I did, however, have some issues with the volume never being quite loud enough and ultimately the three hour playtime ended up being just not enough for long train travel or flights. So, I started looking at the alternatives. Naturally I started looking at the likes of the Apple AirPods (once I had discovered you can use them with Android phones) …

I've discovered a weird problem with my Linux Mint-system (Linux Mint 18). After rebooting my system (or restarting as well) I got the GRUB menu, but my keyboard is not responding... So I have to wait for the timeout to get my system booted. The keyboard is wired to the computer through an USB-connection. So it's not wireless. And it works OK as soon as my system has booted.. (?). I have installed/loaded Linux kernel 4.4.142, 4.4.143 and 4.4.145. When running kernel 4.4.142 Virtualbox and VMWare Workstation works as it should, but when I try to use 4.4.143 or 4.4.145 …

Chrome just prompted me to restart to update to the latest version, as it sometimes does. I did it, and the browser looks *entirely* different. Completely unexpected. It looks more like Firefox now, IIRC. Not really a problem with it, just surprised and thought I'd comment.

After saying for the last 10 years that I would never own a cell phone (I had enough of that spending many years on call), I finally broke down and got one. It is a Figo (Speak Out) Android (Marshmallow) phone that allows me to buy a block of minutes without having to pay monthly fees. Basically I can use it as much or as little as I want and just pay for what I use. My first complaint was the almost complete lack of documentation. It is a royal pain in the ass figuring out what every little (microscopic, …

Hi DW. Can someone with Windows 10 help me out by testing my library on Edge browser and open the developers console and see if there are any errors that are causing the library not to work on Edge browser. The library is http://iwpe.000webhostapp.com/iwpe This should encrypt your password on the fly when you have entered it or when you have set your browser to remember it. First try it on Firefox so you see how it should work, it work perfectly on Firefox but not on Edge.

Greetings everyone, I've been away from this forum for a long time, must be more than 10 years since my last post. That's how long I've been pretty much trouble free, as far as the Internet and data safety was concerned. Back then I was experimenting all too often with the free anti-spyware and anti-virus programs (Avast, AVG, etc.), getting in trouble in the process, as those freebies would often interfere with each other cause all sorts of headaches, mainly because those conflicts produced a breeding ground for some real nasty Internet threat. I can still remember the friendly atmosphere …

Suppose I have a timekeeper, Ronald jack x628-C, I export time attendance data from the device, including two files: data.dat and device.dat because the old machine runs or crashes the device, I buy the device again If I restore the fingerprint from the old device, I added the remaining device.dat file, which was reported: "IP Error Input!" Restore the data to the device, and the data must be the backup BIN data passing the backup function before. Any of you know this error only helps with.

Create a c++ program that accepts 5 integers in ascending order without using array or looping. Pure else and if statements.

I want to see your suggestions on comparing CPanel and FASTPANEL. I used CPanel for some time but later I changed to FASTPANEL which is absolutely free but provides you with the same opportunities. Also FASTPANEL's design looks much better than CPANEL's one. So now I can't understand why people pay for CPanel. What panel do you guys use and why?

I'm asking this question in the context of a satellite internet service with expensive download limits... If you just accept all the recommended updates for Windows 10 (creator's update, security etc) for a single Home Edition machine how many Gigabytes will that represent in a typical 12 month period? Eg: I'm thinking maybe 5 gig for one major update plus maybe an average of 500 meg/month other stuff?

Start with https://www.google.com/search?q=google+banned+all+apple+repair+ads and there it is. It appears to be mostly about Apple products and when two juggernauts, dare I write collude even if openly, we all lose. Apple's repair system is OK when your device is under AppleCare but beyond that we see the repair price climb to levels where they essentially tell you to buy a new on. I've had no qualms about many third party repair companies but Apple seems to have declared war.

To start I want to make it clear I have no experiance with office 365 or the associated exhange stuff, and I would never personally recomend such a package to my clients, hence why I am totally in the dark about this. I have taken on the management of IT for a small buiness and have been tasked with migrating away from office 365 software to get costs down. There were 15 computers and each had an email address and access to the microsoft 365 software suite. So far I have changed all the accounts onto an "exchange only" plan, …

An early Xmas present to myself arrived at Chez Moi last month in the shape of a rather thick credit card. It's not actually a credit card though, and while it's a chunky 6mm wide it is pretty smart truth be told. That's because it's a clinically validated cardiac diagnostic device, a heart monitor to you and me, called a WIWE. Once I got myself over the fact that I cannot stop pronouncing it as a wee wee, I quickly found the WIWE does a whole lot more than your Fitbit or smartwatch can do in terms of monitoring your …

Intro: I am Almario and I would like to discuss windows installation especially and more specifically out of the box installations. Why it should be partitioned to at least two drives. Body: A drive is volatile to a user and easily damagable. A drive when given super user access to system 32 folder. I won't explain how to do this as it will cause more bootsector virus code to appear. Anyways lol, once this folder and a specific subfolder is granted super access the virus can damage the boot sequence. Now when windows is started you can not access windows. …
