I need to store videos and pictures somewhere. I host my sites on shared hosting because they don't require much power and shared hosting can handle them just fine (for now). I'm planning to create something new that requires video and picture uploading. So I need storage space to upload files, I'll lose bandwidth for displaying images/videos. I was looking at S3 and Google Cloud but they have few billing options. Can someone who is more experienced tell me which should I use and how those cloud storages work. Do they bill bandwidth and storage, what about displaying videos and …

Werner Vogel, Amazon Web Services (AWS) CTO, speaking at the AWS Summit in London yesterday has made the rather amazing claim that security in the cloud is "much stronger" than anything you can have on-premises. As someone who has been writing about information security for more than 20 years, and covering the cloud security beat for five, I can understand why he may say that. At the risk of coming off like TV's "Mad Men," Amazon Web Services really are New and Improved. The company today announced the addition of Amazon Relational Database Service, giving users of Amazon's Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) access to a virtual instance of MySQL. That's the New part. Improvements include a family of high-memory instances and a price reduction of Linux-based EC2 compute time to 8.5 cents per hour from 10 cents. The 15 percent price drop takes effect Nov. 1. "Many customers have told us that their applications require a relational database," said Adam Selipsky, vice president of Amazon …
