My application requires a dialog box and a parent window, from the window proc of the parent window I'm trying to draw on the dialog box. How might I do this? Thank you for reading :)

I have started with windows programming.I am now in the painting and repainting part.When the WM_PAINT is called,the entire client window is supposedly validated,does that meaen the window comes to the foreground and becomes the active one?
