Hello,

New member here, hope you don't mind me asking a question right from the get go.

I work for a very small software company and have had to take on several responsibilities. One of them is doing builds for new releases. Windows, Unix, Linux, HP, etc., we support them all. This is the first exposure I've had to the build process. I really am enjoying it, so I have begun to wonder what future there may be in this.

So, does anyone know what the market is like for build engineers? Is this a common position? Would it be beneficial for me to expand my scope of knowledge past what is expected of me currently, with the thought that it may lead to something else down the road?

Thanks for any info/advice you can offer, I appreciate it.

Jay.
