Okay ... my kids computer has a Surf SideKick 3 problem, with other processed running that won't kill.

The other process problems are Yedkj or Yedki. Mousepad6, Project1, rundll32.

On my desktop this Icon has appeared With "Tag" (TagASurus, underneath it).

I'm also getting a dll error, but I don't know which one. We've been dealing with this problem for atleast 3 days now, and some "suggestions" I've tried like downloading programs and stuff. And nothing seems to be working. I'm very leary of downloading more programs to get rid of this.

Here's the hijack this file, thanks in advance for any help, I'm just out of my mind on trying to get this solved.

Sorry we didnt get to you sooner.

You are indeed loaded.

You may need to pront these instructions, as you will not have acess to interent while in safe mode

First download ewido - www.ewido.net - Install. Update. Do not run it yet.

Then please boot into safe mode, and configure windows to show hidden folders. To do this:

1 Click the Start Button

2 In the Start menu click Control Panel

3 In the Control panel Window click the Folder Options Icon

4 The folder Options Window will now Open

5 Click the View Tab

6 In the view tab window look down the list for a section marked Hidden Files and Folders

7 Enable the option Show Hidden Files and Folders by left clicking the radio button on the left of the option with your mouse. Then uncheck Hide protected operating system files. CLick yes to the dialog.

8 Press the Apply button

9 On the next screen press OK to exit

10 You should now be able to view the hidden files and folders.

------------------------

1. If the computer is running, shut down Windows, and then turn off the power
2. Wait 30 seconds, and then turn the computer on.
3. When you see the black-and-white Starting Windows bar at the bottom of the screen, start tapping the F8 key. The Windows 2000 Advanced Options Menu appears.
4. Ensure that the Safe mode option is selected. In most cases, it is the first item in the list and is selected by default.
5. Press Enter. The computer then begins to start in Safe mode.

While in safe mode Run HJT again and put a check next to the following items.

Empty Recycle bin

------------------------------------------------

Please run ewido. (You downloaded it before you booted into safe mode). Let it remove anything it finds.

----------------------------------------------

Reboot normally, post a new HJT log Has the condition improved?

I forgot to mention the kids computer runs Win 98 SE. I've looked at the www.ewido.net site, and it looks like there program only runs on 2000 and XP. I was wondering if you still wanted me to proceed with the instructions.

Spysweeper should work for Windows 98.

Update that to its latest definitions and run it. Remove anything it finds..

I shall back out now....;)

Here's the newest log. I will look into SpySweeper. So far I haven't run the computer as normal since I've just done the instructions minus the ewido site stuff. I will let you know after I look into SpySweeper.

Thanks so far for the help. there is one or two enteries on the new log that I'm a tad worried about and that's the WebHancer one's. I haven't ever seen them before.

WebHancer you should be able to uninstall thru Add/Remove Programs, also Spybot removes it, and Spysweeper should.

Just attach a new log after removing what Spysweeper finds :)
