When I go to the Tools menu at the top of the page and select "internet options" in the pulldown menu, the "general" tab is missing. The "internet options" window opens onto the "security" tab instead. Now I can't change my homepage.. HELP! What do I do?

Hi, I tried to open internet options from within IE7. IE7 froze, popped up an error message, offered to send to MS and finally closed. The explanation from MS was that there was an error reading inetcp.cpl, and suggested chkdsk to fix hard drive errors. I ran chkdsk and it …
