Help...Cannot delete photo icons from desktop

I copied photos to desktop and now cnnot delete them. In fact, they are multiplying! I delete the icons and they deep coming back. Up to 11-12 copies to this point. Anyone know what is going on? Jack

I copied Photos to my desktop and now I cannot delete them. My desktop is filled with photo icons (flower pot) and when I try to delete them they keep multiplying. Any sugestions? Jack
