Office 2003 on Windows 7. Phone number fields can only be formatted as text. There are no other options. Any Ideas?

Title says it. Old Dell died, I had Office 2003 Professional from Dell, but on MS disks that appear to be retail type. New computer is running Windows 7 (64 bit). Install appeared normal with activation codes, program operations are OK with one or two unexplained shutdowns. Ive been running …
