can jsp be used for building mobile web page

I want to build a web chat application for mobile and i build it in the same manner as it build for
desktop browser but that is not supported by mobile browser. Please java developer let me know how to build front end pages that will be compatible with mobile browser. will XHTML
work fine with servlets , if i am am building application using Netbeans 5.5.

Simple GUI application that runs secure connection with servlet is the better solution to what you proposing to do.

i have made pages in jsp that follows xml. its working on wap browser.

This is supposed to be even easier with introduction of MIDP3 next year that will have better support for XML and other web technologies
