how to adjust the sound intensity(dB) for a particular frequency ....?

hi,

i want to emit a tone a specific frequency and at specific intensity(in dB) ?

what i want to do is say i am emiting the the tone at 1000hz then for this frequency i should be able to variy the intensity of the of the at 1000hz from -10db to +130db. i am able to create a tone at 1000hz. but how shall i adjust the intensity ??

can i obtain the the sound card details from the java sound api??
