Windows XP Powertoy TweakUI (which can be downloaded from Microsoft's website) has a rebuild feature that lets you rebuild icons. However, I don't think it fixes bad
associations
. I think you need a registry fixer-upper.

. I don't remember if it was TweakUI, TweakXP, or somewhere deep within the control panel or what :/

Open MY COMPUTER open the TOOLS TAB, in the drop down menu, Click on FOLDER OPTIONS open the VIEW TAB enter a check mark "HIDE EXTENSIONS FOR KNOWN FILE TYPES" this will prevent the file
associations
from being lost when renaming a file.

Never mind I solved it. has_many and has_and_belongs_to_many require plural table names. That was my problem. I noticed that this forum allows you to mark a problem solved but I can't figure out how to do that.

Try this: - Open Windows Explorer - Under the Tools menu, choose Folder Options - Click on the "File Types" tab. - In the resulting list of registered file types, hilight each type (jpeg, gif, etc.) for which you want to change the default program association and click the "Change" button. The rest should be self-explanatory…
