https://jsfiddle.net/yr2r4Ldj/4/ I've tried 5 different solutions, **FIVE** of them, and **NONE** of them work. I hear Microsoft laughing ever so evily around the corner while grinding hands against one another like a psychopath. Does Microsoft hate developers or something? THEIR OWN FILTERS, DON'T WORK. WHY PROVIDE IMPLEMENTATION OF SOMETHING THAT DOESN'T WORK?!? Is there no way to create something familiar to `text-shadow` in Internet Explorer 9? I was caught surprized that `box-shadow` **is actually supported** at Internet Explorer 9. But `text-shadow`, nah, who would need tinted text from bright background, when you can give shadow to a block, aren't I …

I have not used falsh much before when creating webpages - But I need to create a header for a new site which has some flash in it. Im just not sure, if that specific part of the site would be visible for all visitors? Do all modern browses just auto play the flash file? Or are they shown a message, that this page has flash elements and you need to download the latest flash player and blah blah. Or do the browsers allready support flash and just show the file without any prompts for the user to see or …

After a few hours searching and not finding an answer, does anyone know _if_ thunderbird can be configured to work with Verizon DSL (Actiontec) wired model/router)? Simularly, can Ubuntu be configured to work with verizon dsl? Verizon tech reps say they have no knowledge of a solution. Mostly I get "connection timed out" message with all parameter variations I've tried.

I did a website for my local humane society ten years ago. It worked, they liked it, and so I haven't changed the design over the years. Now, I've updated my IE from 8 to 9, and the site doesn't work. I've tried removing various components (some old style sheet references, some javascript stuff, an applet) and it didn't make the site work. Help! What did they change in IE9 that would make my old site not work? The site is here. ANY advice would be much appreciated. Karen

I've got the most annoying and strange issue with a the website I'm developing here: http://www.lisabmagdalena.co.uk/new2/template.html When the page initially loads into IE 9 it looks as it should, right down to the radiused borders, but if I hit F5 and refresh the page it immediately breaks the layout & drops into compatability mode. If you then close the browser and reload the page again all is good. The page renders as expected in IE8, Firefox, Chrome & Safari, BUT in IE8 compatability mode it looks like it does on refresh in IE9, so I guess that's the clue, but …

Greetings, I was wondering if any of you could help solve this issue... I am using lightbox2 on a photo gallery page to display images. I also have flash files that I am displaying using another system called lightwindow. Both do generally the same thing (darken b/g of page and display image/flash). I use lightwindow because lightbox doesn't support flash. For some reason I get a big black box at the top of the screen when I source the codes together in the HTML. It also adds a contiunously loading white box at the bottom of the screen. If I …

I am thinking of learning C++ (I already know Python and Java), and a friend of mine is thinking of learning C# (already knows some Java and JavaScript). I know there is a long debated "C++ or C#" ordeal out there, so I am not asking about that! :) (I've already done my research on that subject). What I would like to know is: If him and I decided to team up on a project, can we program in our own languages and use them together? Maybe with dlls or byte code (or I guess in this case MSIL)? And …
