Just a little heads up regarding facebook's new feature "pages to watch". It was launched quite recent so many of you might not have seen it on their pages on facebook. However, it is a feature that allows you to add pages of your competitors and track their "page likes" performance. But there's a very disturbing thing. When you add another page to "watch", the page's administrator will get o notification that you are tracking him. It is quite inconvenient when you build your strategy on your competitors performans and facebook alerts them. I just thought you might want to …

I'm wondering if it is possible at all to disable the CTRL-S action when writing stuff on the editor. This is just because I am a frenetic hitter of the CTRL-S key combination, which comes from years of just writing lots of stuff (code or text) and constantly hitting that combination to save the work. To me, this is an unconscious reflex that is hard to suppress (and I don't really want to, because it's a good unconscious reflex to have). But, it is annoying when writing posts here because it triggers the saving of the web-page (with a "save …

I have registered new custom post types and used this filter to add to my blog homepage add_filter( 'pre_get_posts', 'my_get_posts' ); function my_get_posts( $query ) { if ( is_home() && $query->is_main_query()) $query->set( 'post_type', array( 'post', 'kicksimage3', 'kicksimage5', 'kicksvideo', 'kicksstatus' ) ); return $query; } Now that it is showing on my homepage - I want to remove the excerpt so that only the featured images show. I am using the Genesis framework and the child theme is configured to show featured images and the post excerpts - however I would like to remove the excerpt for only the custom post …

I would like to see a "Subscribe to Thread" feature added. There are occasions when I want to be notified if there are new postings to a thread, even when I feel I have nothing to contribute. I (generally) don't like posting unless I can make a contribution to the topic and currently (as far as I know) that is the only way to get email notifications of new posts.

Hi, I chose Feature Driven Development (FDD) as the development methodology to use for the development of my final year project. As you probably know, each 'feature' (functional part of the system) has a plan, design and build stage. The problem i have found is that in examples of the methodology on different sites, they always assume that it is for a 50 man team and the plan and designs are based on allocating tasks etc to different members. As i am developing my project alone, i wondered if anyone knows what the plan and designs for each feature would …

I am very new to Python and scripting and am trying to write script to delete any point feature classes in my .gdb. I have found an example, but can't get it to run. Your help is greatly appreciated. [CODE] import arcpy arcpy.env.workspace = r"E:\GIS_255\Week5\Harmon_Wk5_GIS255\KingCounty.gdb" import string try: fcList = arcpy.ListFeatureClasses("","point", "") for fc in fcList: Lst = arcpy.Describe(fc) if string.lower(Lst.shapeType) == "point": print str(fc) + " is a " + Lst.shapeType + " feature class" else: print str(fc) + "The shapetype is unknown" except: print "Script failed" # Set local variables inFeatures = "points" outFeatures = r"E:\GIS_255\Week5\Harmon_Wk5_GIS255\output.gdb\new_points" tempLayer = …

Hello all I'm working on a project for next year, and I've decided to be a little ambitious. One of the features I would like to have is the ability for my project to analyse an area of the earth (from Google Earth or a good atlas) and determine the nature of the vegetation in the area. However I've never done any image processing, so I would appreciate it if somebody could point me in the right direction. I would specifically like to know any of the following: 1) What features would I be looking for? 2) What extraction algorithms …

I wanted to know that when I create a MFC Multiple Document (Application Type) can I use it to make an Application which I can use as a text editor. (Note : I have installed a VC2008 Feature Pack and want to create the Application Office Style) Actually my purpose is to create a aplication that I can use to Create text files (with custom extension (say) *.hug) which my other Applications can access. Coz when I create a program of this type, the application is still not ready to work as a text documenter. So, to create this application, …
