i have had trouble twice with both of my www.mail.com accounts
i searched the net and found out the problem
if you register an account on www.mail.com you get a reasonable login e.g mine is
@oath.com
and
@homosexual.com (lolol.)
etc. etc.
i would say that 30% of the people who register these accounts are teens wanting a good login name for msn instant messenger (me being one of them)
but there's a problem
msn will not let you login using this address from mail.com
the problem is;
you need to go to www.passport.com
and go from the link "get started now" under the heading "SIGN UP TODAY; Use an e-mail address you already have"
just follow the instructions and hey presto there you have it
you should be able to log in
The greyed out display name box:
When i first (and on my second account actually) logged onto msn using my mail.com account it wouldn't let me type my own display name, the box was greyed out.
now i don't know how to solve this OTHER THAN; you need to verify your account
i then waited about 24 hours+ and logged back on
and yeah, it worked then.
so there you go.
