Martin Cooper, "Father of the Cell Phone", made the first cell phone call in April, 1973. He called his chief rival at Bell Labs to tell him that he had lost. The battery lasted 30 minutes and took 10 hours to recharge. Cooper supposedly predicted that in 30 years (2003) everyone would have a cell phone embedded under the skin. "Cooper" is easy to remember because he released the phone from copper wires.

New York was spending $40,500 per year on every homeless person with mental issues (those with mental or physical disabilities who are homeless for longer than a year or have experienced four episodes within three years). “People thought this was crazy,” said Tsemberis (who came up with the original study), who today runs Pathways to Housing. “They said, ‘You mean even when someone relapses and sells all the furniture you gave them … [to pay for] drugs, you don’t kick them out?’ And I said, ‘No, we do not.'” http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/inspired-life/wp/2015/05/06/meet-the-outsider-who-accidentally-solved-chronic-homelessness/

The Stuxnet worm was a US-Israeli project that sabotaged Iran's nuclear program. The Duqu virus, a relative of Stuxnet was recently used to hack into computers of the international talks on Iran's nuclear program in Geneva. It took advantage of several previously unknown flaws in Microsoft software to infect these computers and then spread.

The nasty problem is that international cybercriminals have now managed to copy the very sophistcated technologies from these state-sponsored attacks.
